BRUNELLI VALPOLICELLA RIPASSO CLASSICO SUPERIORE PA’ RIONDO 2017

90 Pts

A riper style than most Ripasso with dried cherries and dried cranberries. Full body, round and drying tannins and an ash-laden finish. Little old-school, but enjoyable. Drink now.

BRUNELLI CORVINA VERONA CORTE CARIANO 2018

91 Pts

A darkly spiced yet fresh nose of roasted thyme and red cherries follows through to a medium- bodied palate with good acidity drive and punctuated tannins. Drink now.

BRUNELLI AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO 2016

94 Pts

This is a pretty, floral Amarone with dried rose petals, leaves, cedar and lavender. The alcohol is on the low side for the appellation, and that leaves the door wide open for forthright acidity to spring into action and coat the palate in vibrant, red-fruit flavors, swathed in polished, soft tannins. Drink from 2021.

BRUNELLI AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO CAMPO DEL TITARI RISERVA 2015

95 Pts

On the nose, this is all about the eclectic array of spices on offer, ranging from cumin to saffron to dried ginger and cardamom. But don’t miss the dried plums and berries that frolic with the attractive cedary and tarry accents. There’s tremendous tannin grip here, which more than manages to latch on to the dense, ripe cherries and turn them steely and rather edgy. The finish is decadent, but long and graceful. A delight to drink now, but better in 2025.

BRUNELLI AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO CAMPO INFERI RISERVA 2015

96 Pts

This is a really exciting Amarone, where the riper, more overt notes of dried fruit play out into more floral nuances of tulips and rose petals; cedar, oregano and orange peel linger all the while. For all the decadence of the caramelized fruit on offer, the full-bodied palate is tightly constructed with magnificent, regal tannins, waltzing through a meandering line of persistent acidity. Superb. Drink from 2021.
